We were woken up this morning when all the campers returned home. I guess they all had a great time, but H woke with the sun so their day started REALLY early. We got to hear all about how windy and cold the campsite was, how it rained on E as she was using the camper's bathroom (the vent had been left open!), that after using the toilet, H exclaimed, "that's AMAZING!"
When they had left, the sleeping arrangements were going to be the two kids on the pull out bed and G&P up in the bed over the front of the cabin. Apparently, H was being too much of a chatterbox, so they moved E up with Gramma and Papa slept with H. Poor Papa got to learn first hand that H is like Velcro when he sleeps. He slides right up to you and stays there the whole night. I'm sure Papa is going to need to catch up on his sleep tonight!
We needed to be out the door at 10:45 to make it to Craig's friend Kelli's wedding, so we gave kisses to all and headed out. It was a beautiful wedding (sorry no pics!) and it made me regret not getting married in Colorado. The backdrop of the mountains were gorgeous! It was a small wedding, C was the only high school friend there, but he did count as a college friend too! We had the best time talking with Kelli's family-they are all hilarious and we were fortunate enough to sit at the table with both her sassy grandmas! We really had a great time and wish Kelli and Patrick a lifetime of happiness!!! It was great to see them both, as they live in MI, and can't visit CO at Christmas when we're there because of their jobs. Maybe some day we'll get up there to visit them and their "estate"!
After the wedding, we quickly went home and changed and headed over to John and Jody's house to meet up with the nephews and their wives. All seven of the kids were having a sleep over at Aunt Jody's and G-Pa's house and us parents were going to have a night without them!!! The original plan was to go to dinner and then see the new Indiana Jones movie. Someone had heard from someone else who had seen it the night before, that the show was horrible and we decided to skip it and do something else after eating.
We went to a Mexican place for dinner, where I just had a cup of tortilla soup, as I was still recovering from a bit of a 'liquid lunch." Did I mention, Kelli's family knows how to have a party? Anyway, after dinner we stopped by a little frozen custard shop where everyone but C had, go figure, frozen custard. What did C have you ask? Coffee. Right. Even one of the kids working at the place asked the other kid working, "do we even have coffee?" Love my husband! Anyway, at this point, we needed to decide how we were going to not waste the rest of our kid-free night and finally settled on going to Chad and Jen's house to play games...in perfect Lizar tradition! It was great fun, we had our fill of Burgess flatulence, and stayed up way too late! We finally dragged ourselves back home after 1 am. We needed to get up early tomorrow morning to go up to Greeley to visit the peeps up north!
