I guess you could say that we timed our trip to CO to correspond to our friend Kelli's wedding, but the real truth is, I couldn't wait any longer to get my hands on Sam and Kim's new babies!!!! Really, what could be better than one adorable baby, but two adorable babies! We spend the rest of our weekend in Greeley taking turns holding, changing, burping, and kissing Abby and Luke. We were absolutely in baby heaven! From looking at all the pictures I had seen online, it appeared to me the Abby looked more like her mom and Luke took after his dad. Their resemblances were even more apparent in person. It's so not fair, they each got their own baby (I'm stuck with two that look like C, HA!)
Luke's the blue one, Abby's the pink one...like, duh!
A little back story for those who don't know, Sam and Kim are friend's of C from back in their college days. They're awesome people, so of course, they instantly became friends of mine ("any friend of P is a friend of me!"). We think so highly of them, we even asked them to be E's Godparents and thankfully they said yes! They have always spoiled our kids and we've been waiting for the day when we could return the favor. We just didn't realize they were in such a hurry to even the kid count score...go team Penn!
The kids loved, loved, loved the babies. E was her usual little "mommy" self, always willing to run after anything anyone needed and always ready to hold Abby or Luke. About a thousand times during our visit, H would come up to one of the babies, look them in the face and exclaim, "de sooo tiny!" It was as if he discovered their small stature every time he saw them.
A little proof we did something else than drool over baby drool!
It was Memorial Day weekend, so we HAD to do some grilling for the occasion. It rained that day, so we didn't get to do too much outside. We did manage to brave the elements long enough to go around the corner to grab everyone some Marble Slab ice cream, yum!
H didn't forget his first love at the Penn household, the animals. Though Lily the cat was her usual loner self, Dexter the dog was more than willing to share in H's affections!
Oh, I almost forgot about our BIG news: C and I were asked to be Abby's Godparents!!!! We are beyond excited and honored. More reason to spoil that beautiful little girl!!!! E has been telling everyone that she doesn't have a real sister but she does have a "God-Sister!"
