After having the threat of three hurricanes approach the area in just as many weeks, we finally broke down and decided to get the materials to board up our windows. Our neighbor graciously took C to the lumber yard to pick up sheets of plywood with his pick up truck. We spent the better part of the morning measuring and cutting the sheets to fit all the windows of the house. Now that we've gotten this chore out of the way, we have guaranteed that no storm will pass our way for the remainder of our time living in this house! Oh, well, it will be there for the next guy!
After completing this tedious chore (heat humidity, and sawdust do not mix well) there was a mess of sawdust left in the driveway. C went and grabbed the shop vac and began to vacuum it all up. Both kids were very excited by the machinery and BEGGED us to let them use it. Um, sure, just make sure you take turns. It was great, our driveway was cleaned up, the kids were occupied and I got to relax with my husband on the front porch. Whoo-hoo!
