Eatertainment

So here at the Lizar house, we have a tradition when C is awarded a bonus or promotion with his job, we go out to eat at the funnest place we can think of. It all started by accident, as most traditions seem to do. The first year living in B'ham, when C received his annual bonus, we decided to celebrate by going to eat at Stix, a Japanese steakhouse where food is cooked in front of you. When the next year rolled around and C received his bonus, we happened to be out and about by Stix, so we went there again-tradition thusly established! Since our move C received a bonus back in March, so we went to the Japanese Steakhouse here in town.

This week C earned another bonus (actually two-one for performance and another for staying with the company through the joint venture) so we knew we needed to find a super fun place to celebrate. We were tiring of the hibachi grill places and after vetoing the kids choices of Chuck E Cheese's and McDonald's as their funnest places, we went to The Melting Pot fondue restaurant. It turned out to be an excellent choice for all!

We didn't allow H to go near the "hot pot" but he was the dipping sauce expert. E did a great job at rescuing all the food that decided to go swimming in the broth. As soon as the call went out for the rescue spoon, she was ready! By the time dessert arrived, we were all stuffed, but of course, we (ok, me) managed to find room to clean the last bit of chocolate out of the pot!

The kids fought over the one cherry on the cheesecake, so we asked for just one more...

As a proper lady from Mississippi once said to me, "I have dined sufficiently!"

We had a great time celebrating all of C's accomplishments, but now we need to come up another "eatertainment" establishment for our next celebration. Any suggestions?
