Day 2: Disney MGM Studios

After a long day at the Magic Kingdom yesterday, we managed to drag ourselves out of bed early this morning and headed straight from Disney MGM Studios. This is going to be the last time we're ever going to get the chance to go to Disney MGM because beginning next year, the name of this park will be Disney's Hollywood Studios. There was some discussion over which park to go to on our second day. Grammy & Grampy have never been to Disney's Animal Kingdom. I really wanted to see the Osborne Family Lights. Craig HATES Animal Kingdom (except for Expedition Everest). And since G&G don't have too much of an opinion on anything, we went to MGM.

Like the other park, Disney has MGM decorated for Christmas. It was sort of a retro theme in the park. We took advantage of having someone else with us to take a picture of the entire family. Too bad the sun was REALLY bright!

We sent G&G off to watch the Indiana Jones show and we took the kids to see Playhouse Disney. I couldn't stand to see the Indiana Jones show again (Ellie and I left half way through the last time) and it would probably be cruel to make anyone with out small children sit through the Playhouse Disney show! Anyway, the kids got to meet Annie, June & Quincey from the Little Einsteins:

We did all the other stuff around the park. Saw the Car stunt show again--really most of the shows at this park are one time things. Both Grammy and I said we don't care to see it a second time, ever, but H had fun watching all the cars. E rode the Tower of Terror again, this time with Grammy. Everyone, that was tall enough, rode the Rockin' Roller Coaster. It was my first time on it, as it undergoing maintenance the last time we were here. It's a keeper, unfortunately, it will be a while before E can ride it because it's a 48 incher. At some point during the day we took the back lot tour. You can tell C had the camera, as he likes to take random pictures of things like:
The Earful Tower:

A big ball of bones from one of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies:

And half of a Herbie car that they use in the car stunt show:

At 6 o'clock, the Osborne Family lights were to be turned on. It is a collection of over a million Christmas lights that one family (the Osbournes, duh!) had on their house in Little Rock, AR. They had so many, they bought the two houses next to them to display them. Then they got to big and Disney paid them a bazillion dollars to move them to Disney World. Man, to be those people-first, they had enough money to buy all those lights; second, they had enough money to buy the houses next to them; finally, Disney gives them EVEN MORE money. Lucky crazy people! Anyway, when the lights were turned on, it was literally breathe-taking! It was amazing, you didn't know which way to turn and look at them because they were every where! To make it even more impressive, every 15 minutes the lights would flash in synchronization to a Trans-Siberian Orchestra Christmas song (you know the one I'm talking about). Anyway, it's totally worth seeing if you ever have the opportunity!

After our very long day, we hopped in the car and started on our very long drive home!
