Last year, C had received $125 in gift certificates for the Beau Rivage Hotel and casino. They were due to expire this coming weekend, so we did the only sensible thing we could do...we drove to Biloxi and spent it! First, we all had lunch in the buffet restaurant. After lunch we let the kids go wild in a gift shop. H picked our a super cool Melissa and Doug wooden pizza set. E picked the matching sushi set. We wandered around the hotel a bit and got to see the beautiful Halloween decorations.
After leaving the hotel, C took us on a short driving tour of the area. It was my first time in Biloxi and I was amazed to see how much damage still existed from Hurricane Katrina. C's perspective on it was interesting, as he had spent quite a bit of time in the area before the storm and was able to describe what it looked like before the devastation.
